Set Up Your Antminer and Start Mining Bitcoin
Prerequisites:
- Have a wallet for the coin you want to mine (Bitcoin)
Ⅰ. Before use
-
Inspect the new miner
1. Visually inspect the box when your miner arrives and look for any signs of damage. If the packaging is damaged, take photos of its condition before opening it and inspecting the machine. If the machine is also damaged, contact customer service immediately.
2. Inspect the machine for any cosmetic damage. Check the corners of the unit for dents or cracks, and make sure the fan blades and cables are not broken. If you notice any damage or defect, contact customer service immediately.
3. Check the miner's heat sinks. Look through the front and rear fans to see whether any heat sinks are loose. If you find any loose heat sinks, contact customer service immediately.
-
Know the operating precautions
1) PoE is not supported.
2) Only a wired Ethernet connection via a router or switch is possible.
3) Operate the miner in an environment between 5 and 35 degrees Celsius.
4) Keep the ambient humidity around the machine below 65%.
5) Keep the miner free of dust and moisture to prevent corrosion and/or heat build-up.
6) Supported browsers: Google Chrome and Firefox.
7) The power connector and the power supply cord must be firmly plugged in.
Ⅱ. Miner overview

Caution:
-
Please refer to the layout above when positioning your products, to avoid damage.
-
The device must be connected to an earthed (grounded) power outlet. The outlet must be installed near the device and be easily accessible.
-
The equipment has two power inputs; it only works when both power sockets are connected at the same time. When powering off the equipment, make sure to switch off all power inputs.
-
DO NOT remove the screws and cables attached to the product.
-
DO NOT press the metal button on the cover.
III. Miner components
The main components and the front panel of the miner's controller are shown in the following figure:

IV. Miner configuration
To configure the miner
The IPReporter.zip file is only supported on Microsoft Windows.
-
Go to the following website: https://shop.bitmain.com/support.htm?pid=00720160906053730999PVD2K0vz0693
-
Download the following file: IPReporter.zip.
-
Extract the file. By default, the DHCP network protocol assigns IP addresses automatically.
-
Right-click on "IPReporter.exe" and run it as administrator.
-
Select one of the following options:
■ Shelf, Step, Position – suitable for farm miners, to mark the location of each miner.
■ Default – suitable for home miners. -
Click on "Start".
On the control board, press the IP Report button and hold it down until it beeps (about 5 seconds).
The IP address will be displayed in the window.
-
Enter the machine's IP address in your preferred browser
-
Log in using root as both the username and the password.
-
In the Protocol section, you can assign a static IP address (optional).
-
Enter the IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS server.
-
Click on "Save".
-
Click on https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018950053 to learn more about the gateway and DNS server.
V. Pool configuration
To configure the miner:
-
click on the frame marked below. *Note:
-
The fan speed percentage can be adjusted, but we recommend keeping the default setting. The miner will adjust the fan speed automatically if the fan speed percentage has already been selected.
-
Miners in the 19 series have two operating modes: normal mode and sleep mode. The miner enters sleep mode when the control board is powered but the hash boards are not.
2. Configure the mining pool settings
Click on the "Miner Configuration" tab to configure the mining pools. Enter the mining pool URL and the miner name (under Worker).
We are configuring the Ordina Mining pool, available at this link https://dashboard.ordina-mining.com
The pool details are:
Pool 1: btc.ordina-mining.com:6100
Pool 2: btc-bkp1.ordina-mining.com:6100
Pool 3: btc-bkp2.ordina-mining.com:6100
In Miner name, enter your bitcoin address followed by “.” and then the worker name (the machine name shown on the pool dashboard)
Then click on "Save" to connect to the pools.
After 1h, you can check whether shares are being submitted to the pool via this link: Understanding and viewing your mining statistics on the Ordina pool
*Note: In this article, we use ORDINA-pool. Feel free to use other mining pools if you prefer.
VI. Monitoring your miner
Checking your miner's operating status
1. Click on the dashboard shown below to check the miner's status.
The firmware will stop running when the (outlet) temperature reaches 85℃, and the error message "over max temp, pcb temp (real-time temp)" will be displayed at the bottom of the kernel log page. At the same time, the miner temperature on the dashboard becomes abnormal and shows "Temp is too high".
2. Monitor your miner using the descriptions in the following table:
|
Option |
Option description |
|
Number of chips |
Number of chips detected in the chain. |
|
Frequency |
ASIC frequency setting. |
|
Real hashrate |
Real-time hashrate of each hash board (GH/s). |
|
Inlet Temp |
Inlet temperature (°C). |
|
Outlet temperature |
Outlet temperature (°C). |
|
Chip status |
One of the following statuses is displayed: ● Green icon – indicates normal status. ● Red icon – indicates an anomaly |
After 30 minutes, your machine should have started sending shares to the pool. To check that mining has started, go to the pool interface using your wallet.
