Features

What HappyMining firmware changes on your Antminer

Factory settings are a compromise. With HappyMining firmware you choose between performance, energy savings and longevity, and the machine keeps working when a part fails.

  • Overclocking (OC)

Raise the chip frequency beyond the factory setting for more hashrate, as long as your power supply and cooling can keep up.

  • Undervolting and energy savings

Lower frequency and voltage to use fewer watts per terahash, when electricity is expensive or the heat has to come down.

  • Per-chip autotune

The firmware tunes the frequency and voltage of each chip, instead of applying the same value to the whole machine.

  • Profiles and automatic switching

Pick a profile (target power and hashrate). The firmware can switch profiles on its own based on chip temperature, power and stability, and fall back to the last stable profile if something goes wrong.

  • Power limit

Set a cap in percent or in watts: the firmware lowers the profile to stay under it. Useful on a limited electrical installation.

  • Dead hashboard? The machine keeps going

Each hashboard can be disabled on its own: the Antminer keeps mining with the others while the faulty one gets repaired.

  • Dead fan? The machine keeps going

Set the minimum number of working fans: the machine ignores a failed fan or a faulty speed sensor and keeps mining.

  • Air, hydro and immersion

Automatic mode driven by chip temperature (65 °C recommended), fixed speed in manual mode, or immersion mode: fans off and regulation on the liquid temperature.

  • Detailed dashboard

Hashrate, errors, frequencies, thermal maps and sensor temperatures: you see the state of every board and every chip.

  • API and fleet management

An API for monitoring and automation, and a tool to manage several machines at once.

  • Updates in a few clicks

Update from the firmware's web interface and keep your configuration.

  • Pause and pool loss

Pause mining to reduce the load and the fan speed. If the pool connection is lost, choose whether the machine stays under load or shuts down.

Resilience

One failed part does not stop the whole machine

HappyMining firmware lets the Antminer work with what still works, until the repair is done.

A dead hashboard

  1. Find the faulty board on the dashboard: hashrate, errors and temperatures per board.
  2. Disable it in the settings: the other boards keep mining.
  3. Hashrate drops accordingly until the repair. Once the board is repaired, enable it again.

A dead fan

  1. Set the minimum number of working fans (4 by default).
  2. The machine ignores the failed fan, or its faulty speed sensor, and keeps mining.
  3. Keep an eye on chip temperature and replace the fan quickly.

With faulty temperature sensors, the machine can also keep running instead of stopping.

Mining with a failed part is a stopgap: watch the temperatures and get the part repaired. Our after-sales service

Update it yourself

  1. Pick the fileOn the download page, take the file that matches your model and your control board.
  2. Check itCompare its SHA-256 fingerprint with the one shown on the page.
  3. Run the updateIn the firmware's web interface, open “Firmware update”, drop the .tar.gz file without unzipping it, then click “Flash miner”. Leave “save current miner configuration” on to keep your settings.
  4. Do not cut anythingDuring the update, do not cut the power or the network, and wait until it is finished.

Is your machine still on the original Bitmain firmware? Contact us before installing: the method depends on the model and the control board. Going back to the factory firmware remains possible.

Overclocking increases power draw and heat: make sure your power supply, cables and cooling can keep up.

Changing the firmware may affect the manufacturer's warranty. For a machine bought from us, ask us first.

FAQ

HappyMining firmware: your questions

What is HappyMining firmware?

It is an Antminer firmware offered by Happy Mining. It replaces the machine's factory software and adds overclocking, undervolting, per-chip autotune, power profiles and advanced cooling settings.

Can my Antminer mine with a dead hashboard?

Yes. Disable the faulty board in the settings: the machine keeps mining with the other boards. Hashrate drops accordingly until the repair.

And with a dead fan?

Yes, by setting the minimum number of working fans: the machine ignores the failed fan and keeps mining. Watch the chip temperature and replace the fan as soon as possible.

Is overclocking risky?

It increases power draw and heat. The firmware watches temperature and stability, can lower the profile on its own and fall back to the last stable profile, but your power supply and cooling must keep up. If in doubt, start with autotune or an energy-saving profile.

Which file should I install?

The one that matches both the exact model and the machine's control board (Xilinx, BeagleBone, Amlogic or CVITEK). If in doubt, send the model and a photo of the control board to contact@happymining.eu.

Can I go back to the original firmware?

Yes, going back to the factory firmware remains possible. Contact us and we will explain the steps for your model.

Is installation free?

Yes, on machines bought from Happy Mining. For a machine bought elsewhere, contact us.
