Installing a Hydro ASIC via Antrack / Hydro Kit
A Hydro (water-cooled) machine isn't “plugged in” the way an air-cooled ASIC is. Stability depends as much on the machine as on the water circuit: filling, bleeding, flow rate, heat exchange and leak checks.
At Happy Mining, we see two clean ways to get started:
-
Option A: BITMAIN ANTRACK V1 (integrated hydro cabinet/rack, up to 4 miners)
-
Option B: 12 kW water cooling kit (compact “plug-and-play” solution for a simple loop)
1) Choosing the right option (simple rule)
You want an “organised / multi-machine” module
➡️ Choose the ANTRACK V1: it is a cabinet designed to house water-cooled miners and centralise integration.
You want to cool 1 machine (or a small setup) with a simple loop
➡️ Choose the 12 kW water cooling kit: it is a practical base if you want a quick, controllable start-up without building a full “industrial” loop.
2) Option A — Hydro setup with BITMAIN ANTRACK V1
What you are buying (in practice)
The AntRack V1 is designed to centralise a clean hydro setup: you install the machines in a “cabinet” chassis and rely on an architecture that is already structured.
Commissioning (reliable method)
-
Placement & maintenance access
Install the ANTRACK V1 on a stable floor, with room to reach the fittings / valves (that's what makes the difference on the day you need to act fast). -
Filling + bleeding (critical point)
Even with a cabinet, the #1 risk remains trapped air. Fill slowly, circulate, bleed, then bleed again. Keep the water cooling manual to hand: manuel_watercooling.pdf. -
Installing the ASICs gradually
Start with 1 machine, validate stability (temps/alerts), then move up to 2/3/4. The classic mistake is filling the cabinet “all at once” without validation. -
Starting up in the right order
Always: cooling ON → ASIC ON (otherwise a “dry” start is possible). This point is also covered in the water cooling manual.
✅ When to choose this option: if you want a well-structured “rack/cabinet” setup and a clean deployment path via AntRack V1.
3) Option B — Hydro setup with the 12 kW water cooling kit
What the kit is for (and how to use it correctly)
The 12 kW water cooling kit is a compact solution for building a simple loop around one (or a few) Hydro miners, as long as you stay consistent with the heat load and the radiator's airflow.
Commissioning (step by step)
-
Placement: let the radiator breathe
The radiator must dissipate heat into a proper airflow. If you push it into a corner, you recycle hot air and lose all your margin. The basics are detailed in the water cooling manual. -
Hose connection (flow/return)
Connect without twisting/pinching, and keep the routing tidy. (Yes, it sounds trivial, but many “low flow” issues simply come down to a badly placed hose.) See also the manual. -
Filling (never start dry)
The kit states that the coolant is not supplied: it's up to you to fill it properly, then bleed. A “dry start” is the scenario that causes damage fastest. Reference: manuel_watercooling.pdf. -
Bleeding (often several cycles)
If the pump cavitates / the flow is unstable, it is often air. Bleed again after a few minutes. The manual explicitly mentions cases where air blocks operation: water cooling manual. -
Start-up
First the 12 kW water cooling kit circulating steadily → then the ASIC.
✅ When to choose this option: if you want a simple, quick setup built around the 12 kW kit, typically for 1 machine (or a small, very well-ventilated setup).

5) “Before power-on” checklist (copy/paste)
-
Reservoir full (never run the pump dry) — see water cooling manual
-
Bleeding done + bled again after a few minutes — manual
-
Stable flow (no cavitation / no fluctuation) — manual
-
Fittings/seals inspected: zero seepage
-
Start-up: cooling → ASIC — manual
