Hashrate converter: H/s, GH/s, TH/s, PH/s, EH/s
Convert computing power into every unit, from H/s to ZH/s (and Sol/s for Equihash), then work out your miner's efficiency in J/TH, its power consumption and its electricity cost.

The lower the efficiency figure, the less power the miner uses for the same work. Costs use the kWh price entered, excluding cooling and installation.
Hashrate units
Hashrate measures how many calculations (hashes) a miner performs each second. Each unit is 1,000 times the previous one: 1 TH/s = 1,000 GH/s = 1,000,000 MH/s.
| Unit | Name | Value | Typical scale |
|---|---|---|---|
| kH/s | Kilohashes per second | 103 H/s | Processors (CPU), test mining |
| MH/s | Megahashes per second | 106 H/s | Graphics cards (GPU) |
| GH/s | Gigahashes per second | 109 H/s | Scrypt miners (Litecoin, Dogecoin), Dash, Ethereum Classic |
| TH/s | Terahashes per second | 1012 H/s | Bitcoin and Kaspa ASIC miners |
| PH/s | Petahashes per second | 1015 H/s | Mining farms, pool accounts |
| EH/s | Exahashes per second | 1018 H/s | Large mining pools |
| ZH/s | Zettahashes per second | 1021 H/s | The whole Bitcoin network |
Which unit for which algorithm?
Each algorithm has its usual unit, the one manufacturers and pools display. The converter accepts every unit.
| Algorithm | Cryptocurrencies | Hashrate | Efficiency |
|---|---|---|---|
| SHA-256 | Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash | TH/s | J/TH |
| Scrypt | Litecoin, Dogecoin | GH/s or MH/s | J/MH or J/GH |
| kHeavyHash | Kaspa | TH/s | J/TH |
| Equihash | Zcash | kSol/s | J/kSol |
| X11 | Dash | GH/s or TH/s | J/GH |
| Etchash | Ethereum Classic | GH/s or MH/s | J/MH |
| Eaglesong | Nervos (CKB) | TH/s | J/TH |
| Cuckatoo32 | Grin | GPS | J/G |
Hashrates of two algorithms cannot be compared: 1 TH/s on SHA-256 (Bitcoin) and 1 TH/s on kHeavyHash (Kaspa) represent neither the same work nor the same income.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert TH/s to GH/s?
Multiply by 1,000: each unit is worth 1,000 times the previous one (kH/s, MH/s, GH/s, TH/s, PH/s, EH/s, ZH/s). 200 TH/s = 200,000 GH/s = 0.2 PH/s. Going down one unit multiplies by 1,000; going up one unit divides by 1,000.
What is efficiency in J/TH?
It is the energy used to produce one terahash: power in watts divided by hashrate in TH/s. As one watt is one joule per second, J/TH and W per TH/s give the same figure. The lower it is, the less electricity the miner spends for the same work: 3,500 W for 200 TH/s gives 17.5 J/TH.
Why is Equihash measured in Sol/s?
Equihash miners (Zcash) count solutions found per second rather than hashes. The prefixes stay the same (1 kSol/s = 1,000 Sol/s), but Sol/s cannot be converted into H/s.
Can I compare the hashrate of two different algorithms?
No. One TH/s on SHA-256 (Bitcoin) and one TH/s on kHeavyHash (Kaspa) represent neither the same work nor the same income. Compare miners of the same algorithm, or use the profitability calculator to compare their earnings in euros.
How much electricity does an ASIC miner use per day?
Power in watts × 24 ÷ 1,000 = kWh per day. A 3,500 W miner uses 84 kWh per day, around 2,550 kWh per month; multiply by your kWh price to get the cost.
