Open WebUI

Open WebUI is an open-source web interface that turns your local AI models into a chat assistant, accessible from any browser.

Open WebUI is a free application installed on the server where your language models run. It offers a chat interface comparable to that of the major online assistants: conversation history, model selection, file uploads and formatted answers. Each team member accesses it from their browser, on a computer, tablet or phone, without installing anything.

Open WebUI does not run the models itself: it connects to an engine such as Ollama or to any compatible API, for example vLLM's. It then adds features that are useful in a business setting: user accounts with roles and permissions, knowledge bases for querying documents through RAG, optional web search, and custom assistants with their own instructions and additional tools.

The software itself is lightweight: it is the machine hosting the models that determines the speed and quality of the answers. For shared use, look mainly at the GPU's VRAM and the expected number of simultaneous users. Installed on your local network, Open WebUI keeps all conversations and documents on your premises. Remote access remains possible, provided it is properly secured.

Our AI workstations come with Open WebUI ready to use and connected to Ollama, so your team can chat with the AI from day one.
