Eaglesong
Eaglesong is the hash function created for Nervos CKB's proof of work. Today it is mined by specialized ASICs.
Eaglesong is a hash function designed specifically for Nervos Network, and more precisely for its main blockchain, CKB (Common Knowledge Base), launched in 2019. Rather than reuse an existing algorithm, the project's team chose to create a new one, notably so that no hardware already in circulation would have an advantage at launch.
Eaglesong follows the principle of so-called sponge constructions, like SHA-3: data is absorbed in blocks and then mixed through a series of simple rounds that are easy to etch into circuits. CKB runs on proof of work and serves as a secure base layer that other applications can build on. Shortly after launch, the first Eaglesong ASICs arrived and replaced graphics cards.
The hashrate of Eaglesong miners is expressed in TH/s. They are made notably by Goldshell, with compact models in the CK range, and by Bitmain. On a product page, compare efficiency and power consumption, and check that your chosen pool actually supports CKB: it is a less widespread coin than Bitcoin or Litecoin, and not every pool offers it.
Our CKB collection brings together the Eaglesong miners we offer.
