Blake2s

Blake2s is a fast hash function from the Blake2 family, used by Kadena for its proof of work and mined with dedicated ASICs.

Blake2s is a version of the Blake2 hash function, published in 2012. Blake2 comes in two main variants: Blake2b, optimized for 64-bit processors, and Blake2s, designed for more modest 8- to 32-bit chips. It is both secure and very fast, which explains why it appears in a lot of software, well beyond mining.

In mining, Blake2s is the algorithm of Kadena, a proof-of-work blockchain launched in 2019. Kadena has a distinctive architecture called Chainweb: instead of a single chain, it runs several chains in parallel that reference one another. This increases the number of transactions processed without giving up proof of work.

Kadena is mined with Blake2s ASICs, whose hashrate is expressed in TH/s. Models include the Goldshell KD range, the Antminer KA3 and iBeLink machines. As with any ASIC, compare efficiency in J/TH, power consumption and noise level, and make sure your pool supports Kadena before starting the machine.

Our Kadena collection brings together the Blake2s miners we offer.
